Additional Wine Notes
Producer Notes
Chateaux Angludet is a family favourite at Nemo Wines as many of the (mostly dodgy) 70s vintages were picked by various members of the family. It’s also a favourite at home where we are currently alternating between the 1985 and the 1998, each very different in style, and each belying advice about not letting the wine age too much.
The chateaux hasn’t had an amazing reputation for a long time, at least in part because all of its vines were destroyed by frost in the 1950s but the owners of the estate (who also own Chateau Palmer) have invested heavily and the classic blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot makes for a very good classic claret for the price.
Vintage Notes
2004 was a good vintage in Margaux
2004 was an above average, good value, and reasonably long-lived vintage in Bordeaux
