Producer Notes
The Bartons have been buying up vineyards in the Bordeaux region since the mid 18th century. Originally an Irish family, they have long since become Bordelais gentry.
Chateau Langoa Barton is a cooler spot than its neighbour Leoville Barton and this can make it the better wine in very hot vintages. It also hosts the winery for Leoville Barton (which has no chateau building).
The blend is around 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot historically but recent vintages have had a higher proportion of Merlot.
There is a second wine called Lady Langoa.
