Producer Notes
Owned by Tenuta Dell’Ornellaia, Masseto is produced from a single vineyard in Bolgheri, Tuscany planted with 100% Merlot. The vineyard is fully organic, the grapes are picked by hand and the production is kept as traditional as possible. Tuscany gets pretty hot in the summer but the clay soil these vines are planted on provide acidity to create balance. Although some argue that are not as elegant as their Super Tuscan cousins, Ornellaia and Sassicaia. With small production numbers and a cult following the wines are highly sought after and priced accordingly.
