Producer Notes

Taylor’s is one of the oldest established Port houses and the first British merchant to own an estate in the Douro valley, Quinta de Vargellas. It has changed hands many times since then but its reputation as a producer of quality and consistency hasn’t waned. They were the first to introduce a Late Bottled Vintage Port back in the 1970’s which has now become a common fixture for most Port houses. They make a wide range of styles but are best known for the LBV’s, Vintage Port and their single-quinta, Vargellas Vinha Velha which is made from ancient vines located within the Quinta de Vargellas estate.
