Producer Notes
Bruno Giacosa worked in the wine industry from 1944 almost to his death in 2018, was a perfectionist, and was as responsible as anyone for the improvements in quality and reliability of Piedmontese wine over the last 50 years.
He owns vineyards in Barolo, Barbaresco and Alba and also acts as a negotiant for many growers in the region. The firm is now managed by his daughter Bruna and wine-making is back in the hands of Bruno’s old oenologist, Dante Scaglione, meaning that there is no reason to expect any drop in standards.
Wines from vineyards owned by Bruno Giacosa are bottled as “Azienda Agricola Falletto Bruno Giacosa”, whereas negociant bottlings are marked “Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa”.
