Producer Notes
We do like a fancy chateau and this is the fanciest going: right up there with Brighton Pavillion in its ostentation. They’re also very big on elephants at Cos d’Estournel, which we approve of.
It is, however, the top wine from our favourite appellation in the Medoc, Saint-Estephe.
The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.
There’s a second (red) wine known as Pagodes de Cos, an obviously named white wine, and a Merlot-heavy red second wine called Goulée.
