Producer Notes
Domaine Trapet Pere et Fils is a fourth generation Burgundian wine producer based in Gevrey Chambertin. Their production is completely red-wine focused from the Pinot Noir grapes that they grow, with all of their vineyard sites found in the Cote de Nuits including a small parcel of the famous Grand Cru vineyard, Chambertin. Over the last 40 years, the estate has made big changes to move towards a Biodynamic philosophy in the vineyard and winery, with official certification being approved in the 1990s. Winemaker and owner Jean Louis Trapet’s goal has always been to make wines from low-yielding, quality sites with as little intervention as possible. Along with his wife Andrée, the Domaine also make spectacular wines in Alsace although Burgundy is always at the forefront. Trapet’s wines are generous and soft, with more depth, structure and complexity in the Grand Cru wines.
