Producer Notes
There are those that balk at Krug’s prices and see them as elitist and unapproachable and there are those that believe them to be the king of Champagne.
The original Mr Krug was a German but Krug Champagne is pretty much the archetype of French Champagne. It is also our favourite Champagne here at Nemo. The wine ages splendidly and when 20-30 years old, develops a more toasted, Rich-Tea-biscuit flavour which we adore.
istorically, they have offered a Grande Cuvee, a vintage and a rosé Champagne as well as Le Clos de Mesnil which is a single vineyard blanc de blancs. The range of wines is now a little extensive but we would still recommend the non-vintage, the vintage and the Clos du Mesnils.
