Producer Notes
The Bonneau estate is now run by Marcel Bonneau but was set up by Henri back in the 1950’s. Henri came from a long line of Rhône winemakers and he firmly established himself as a quality Chateauneuf du Pape producer. The wines are made from over 80% Grenache balanced out with Mourvedre, Counoise and Vaccarese. The bulk of the vineyards are located on highly regarded La Crau plot increasing the wines profile before production. The focus on low yields and late harvest produces wines of intense concentration but backed up with good winemaking ensures they don’t tip over into over extraction.
