Producer Notes
One of the great old estates of Bordeaux, Chateau Rauzan-Ségla did not quite make it to first growth status in 1855 and had a relatively difficult 20th century, not coming back to serious prominence until the 90s, although the late 1980s vintages were excellent.
Note that if you find old vintages of this spelled Rausan, rather than Rauzan, it’s not a forgery, that’s what it was called for a while.
The blend is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc.
There is a good value second wine called Ségla.
