Producer Notes
Clarendon Hills is a pioneering winery based twenty-five miles south of Adelaide in Clarendon in South Australia and makes premium quality wines using a blend of old-world techniques and new world charm. Established in 1990, the estate is family run and has been heavily influenced by classic European regions like Bordeaux and the Rhone Valley due to the choice of grape varieties planted and vinified which include Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Like Burgundian producers, Clarendon Hills prefer to label their wines according to single vineyard expressions to best represent the many different terroirs that they look after and even have their own classification system of Premier Cru and Grand Cru. The wines have much depth and complexity, particularly in the best vintages from the oldest vineyard sites, and continue to receive much praise and attention from wine lovers all over the world.
