Producer Notes

Family owned since 1880, Domaine Drouhin is a very well regarded Burgundian negociant-producer based in central Beaune. They are dominant land-owners with many Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyard holdings, all producing excellent quality wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Interestingly, the property produce all of their wines using Biodynamic methods and as of 2009, are officially Organic Certified. Using natural methods to preserve the vineyards is of great importance to the Drouhin family, as they firmly believe quality winemaking starts with the land. Famed for their iconic white Clos des Mouches, The Drouhin family wines are incredibly popular from village level to single estate, with all of their wines very expressive of the Burgundian terroir. For fuller bodied, richer styles of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, look out for wines produced at Drouhin’s estate in Oregon.
