Wine Notes
A wine so big and powerful when first released it has taken fifteen years for it to settle and show what else it has to offer. The full-bodied backbone is still present but the more subtle floral and dark berry notes have come through providing a more balanced and nuanced wine than originally encountered.
Additional Wine Notes
Hailed as one of the great Hermitage producers Chapoutier has a clear defined style that is magic for some but not for others. La Sizeranne is blended from three vineyards and is usually full of warmth and spice.
Producer Notes
Hailed as one of the top producers in the Rhone, M.Chapoutier wines are as diverse as they are complex. All wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered to allow all the terroir flavour to remain. For some this is the element that makes the wines so spectacular, for us, it seems to leave an overlying taste of mushrooms in all his wines. Wine is definitely subjective!
