Producer Notes
Set up in the early 2000’s by the owner of Screaming Eagle Jonata has become a popular feature at the top of the California wine leader board. The vineyards are in a more unorthodox location for the grapes they focus on but given the money and expertise behind them they haven’t struggled to come out on top.
They produce wines from a large number of grape varieties including Cabernet, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese and Sauvignon Blanc. Their two bestsellers are Flor, a Sauvignon Semillion blend and, La Sangre, a Syrah with a touch of Viognier. Their Bordeaux blends are worth looking out for as well as they offer a style that differs from a lot of other Californian Cabernets.
