Producer Notes
Louis Jadot is a French , Burgundian producer and negociant whose name and label you will recognise in local wine shops, upmarket independent merchants and restaurant lists alike, owing to their large scale production and iconic branding (almost every bottle portrays a picture of Dionysus, God of Wine). They own large swathes of vineyards across Burgundy and Beaujolais and produce everything from entry-level village Bourgogne rouge to top end Grand Cru Le Montrachet. Although they are a big producer with endless wine styles, they offer reliability and quality throughout their ranges. The simplicity or complexity offered by each wine, be it Chardonnay or Pinot Noir-led, will be reflected in the price paid. High quality grapes from Premier Cru or Grand Cru single vineyards will certainly offer much more complexity and depth than those blended from larger vineyards throughout the Cote d’Or.
