Producer Notes
Based in Chambolle Musigny in the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Georges Roumier is one of the leading lights in Burgundy for premium Pinot Noir red wine. This domaine was amongst the first to bottle wines on the estate back in the 1940’s, ensuring high quality production and full control of the winemaking from grape to glass. Georges Roumier is now led by third generation winemaker, Christophe, who continues to manage the vineyard land with an Organic approach throughout the Village level, Premier Cru and Grand Cru holdings. Although Roumier produce top quality wines from famous sites such as Bonne Mare, their most iconic wine is made from the Premier Cru vineyard “Les Amoureuses” in Chambolle Musigny which, like a lot of their wines, offers great concentration of fruit flavour when young and then continues to develop more complex characters with a few years’ bottle age behind it.
