Producer Notes
Isole e Olena is another producer to have gained fame thanks to some rule breaking back in the 1980’s. They released a 100% Sangiovese wine which, at the time, could not be classified under the Chianti Classico DOCG where the estate is located (Chianti had to be blended with other local grape varieties). Cepparello, as the wine is called, joined the ranks of the Super Tuscan clan and has been very successful thanks to skilful winemaking and consistent quality.
The estate produce a wide range of wines from both native and international grape varieties. Cepparello is still their premium wine.
