Producer Notes
Roagna is one of Barbaresco’s oldest wine estates with vineyard holdings in both Barbaresco and Barolo. The majority of their small scale production is red wine driven, with the Nebbiolo grape variety at the heart of production, although Chardonnay is also grown in small quantities to produce a clean and crisp white wine. The Roagna family are proud to specialise in exclusively high quality wines from the very best vineyard sites in Barbaresco including Paje, Crichet Paje and Paje Riserva, which are three of the top Crus of the region. Winemaker Luca Roagna continues to use traditional vineyard and winemaking methods passed down through the generations to ensure the heart and soul of Piedmont translates into his wines – and there is indeed much intensity captured, from the richness in tannin and depth of fruit concentration to the complexity from oak ageing, it’s no wonder this producer’s wines are so highly sought after.
