Producer Notes
Figeac have set themselves apart from the crowd with a blend that, unlike their neighbours, includes a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon: Merlot 30%, Cabernet Franc 35%, Cabernet Sauvignon 35%. Some argue against the blend but the wines loyal following and consistently high scores say otherwise.
The wine is rich and concentrated with exceptional finesse and an acidity that lends itself to ageing. It is not a wine to be drunk young as it can come across as austere but with age it can rival Cheval Blanc in good years.
They also produce a second wine, Le Petit Figeac.
