Producer Notes
As is customary in Burgundy the name Boillot covers more than one Domaine thanks to sibling separation. In 2005 the Domaine, then known as Domaine Jean Boillot, was owned by the Boillot brothers until Henri bought out his brother Jean Marc who had set up his own domaine, Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot. Henri changed the name in order to create clearer distinction between the two domaines.
The Domaine produces white wines from premier cru vineyards in Meursault, Puligny Montrachet (where they have the monopole on Clos de la Mouchere) as well as red wines from Beaune, Savigny and Volnay. As with all quality conscious Burgundy producers Boillot takes a keen interest in the viticulture behind the grapes sourced from other vineyards as well as his own. Low yields and small production along with the quality of these wines make them an intriguing prospect and usually donโt disappoint.
