Producer Notes
Based in Gevrey Chambertin, Domaine Fourrier is a boutique Burgundian producer making expressive red wines from Pinot Noir. Their production is small-scale with the family choosing to use a lot less new oak in the winemaking, regardless of whether Village Level or Grand Cru are being created, resulting in wines that are much more fruit driven and with varietal character. The Domaine do not follow any specific organic or biodynamic methods, and are therefore not certified, although a lot of what they do in the vineyard and winery is considered sustainable. There is much precision and care taken in the winemaking to show off the ripe, pure and red fruit flavours of the Pinot Noir grape with some of the wines taking on earthy and floral notes as they evolve and age. If you like the lighter, brighter style, this is the red Burgundy producer for you.
Vintage Notes
2019 was a good vintage for whites and an excellent vintage for reds, especially in the cote de nuits in Burgundy
