Producer Notes
As usual, the French Revolution comes into this. The domaine is a collection of vineyards once belonging to the French royal family (hence the Conti, whihch is a princedom awarded to younger sons to keep them busy) and some more vineyards ‘obtained’ by a Napoleonic general after the revolution. But to cut a long story short, somehow one domaine managed to wrangle together the largest parts of the very best few vineyards in Burgundy. As a result, the domaine is the premier domaine in the whole of Burgundy and, therefore, are producers of many of the most valuable bottles of wine in the world.
Vintage Notes
2009 was a very good but short-lived vintage for red and a good vintage for white wines in Burgundy
