Producer Notes
Domaine de la Vougeraie is one of many estates owned by the famous and well-moneyed Boisset family in Burgundy, France. The idea for Vougeraie came about in 1999 when Jean-Claude Boisset wanted to bring all of his very best quality vineyard sites of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir under one label. The Domaine has many Premier Cru and Grand Cru holdings and has a completely biodynamic and Certified Organic philosophy which continues to be a very important element to the vineyard management and winemaking (Boisset believes that using these traditional and natural methods uphold the integrity of the land). All wines, regardless of Cru, are produced in state of the art equipment and this is certainly reflected in the bottle prices, with entry level white Chardonnay and red Pinot Noir wines starting at almost double the price of other Burgundian estates.
