Producer Notes
Domaine de Montille is a French Burgundian estate that has much fascinating history, having been founded pre French revolution in the 1750’s. The house is based around Puligny-Montrachet with the majority of vineyard holdings located in the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy. The family has been following sustainable methods for some time, opting to choose Organic and Biodynamic methods to keep their vineyard and winery production as natural and authentic as possible. Although Chardonnay is grown and produced, the estate is best known for its Pinot Noir red wine across all different quality levels. In terms of style, the winemakers prefer to produce the regional and village level wines without much oak, making the entry level wines quite lean and fresh compared to the Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines, which offer much more depth and complexity and potential for ageing.
