The three most prestigious and reliable Super Tuscans from the exceptional 2016 vintage. Compared with 2015, 2016 was more reliable across the board and produced some exceptional wines, particularly the Sassicaia.
The 2016 Sassicaia may become the best vintage of this wine since 1985 and better balanced than the 2015.
The 2016 Ornellaia is a very approachable wine but stands less far above the 2015 than the other two wines.
The 2016 Tignanello is certainly one of the very best ever vintages of this wine.
This case as an opportunity to try these three Tuscan aristocrats (made by Tuscan aristocrats) without having to buy a full case of each – although you may want a dozen after you’ve tried them.
