Producer Notes
Domaine Faiveley is one of the largest land-owning producers in Burgundy in France and probably one of the most famous for high quality production. Although a negociant too, the majority of grapes used in production come from their own vineyards across the Côte d’or and Côte Chalonnaise, meaning estate-grown, bud to bottle production with fruit provenance being a major focus. Faiveley produce both still red and white from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but recent vineyard acquisitions in the Côte de Beaune mean that most of their wines are now white, including many at Premier Cru and Grand Cru level. Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Faiveley red wines have always shown more structure and power with potential to age well whilst the whites range from clean and crisp to rounded and concentrated.
Vintage Notes
1999 was a very good vintage for red and a good vintage for white wines in Burgundy
