Summer 2023 Mixed Six

This offering from Mischief and Mayhem is made from Gamay and has the air of sometihng a little different. Bright in colour, full of clean, ripe fruit with a lovely refreshing core, yet the texture is creamy and smooth with a touch of sweetness that is very welcome. 

An unoaked, aromatic Chardonnay from the Crouch Valley in Essex.  This little pocket of the UK benefits from a micro climate that has proved ideal for ripening grapes and has produced wines with balance and structure. The 2020 Chardonnay from Martin's Lane has notes of white flowers, jasmine and peach with a touch of lime on the finish. 

Whilst it may be summer we appreciate that not everyone drinks white wine or rosé. This light, bright Nebbiolo is a good crowd pleaser and can be served chilled if the heatwave returns. 

One of the most consistent producers in Rioja, the 2010 Tondonia Reserva is classic in style with full, vibrant fruit and soft, subtle notes from the oak ageing. This will sit very happily alongside a barbecue.
